Jad Charafeddine, our managing director, spoke the Gulf News at this year’s Gulfood Expo about “shock freezing” or “blast freezing” bread. “Healthy bread is, in general, healthy. It’s the basic food source, the basic carb source. If someone’s looking for good health, they should also look at their lifestyle rather than just what they’re eating,” he added. “All natural food is healthy, you need it all in your dietary intake. But you need to change your lifestyle as well, to move more, rather than just going on a diet of healthy food.”

“Advanced Baking Concept (ABC) Baking, focusing on handcrafted natural, ‘green label’ products with no additives or preservatives, has developed its Petrin range of traditional handcrafted sourdough breads from its own levain source, featuring both white, rye and multi-grain doughs in a variety of shapes and sizes. The company has also developed a ciapo range, a ciabatta and levain and is exploring the variety of flavours that can be infused in the breads, such as cranberry, apricot and cardamom, mint, seaweed and wasabi.”

WORLD RECORD for longest sandwich SET WITH 2.6 KM SANDWICH LINE

The effort to make the world’s longest sandwich started at 9am and was completed two hours ahead of schedule at 12noon, just in time for distributing the lunch packets to the employees of three labour camps.
